Responsible Pest Management

Our Approach

Our first responsibility  in Pest Management is the health and the needs of our customers. Customers should expect that the products they consume are safe and free of harmful materials. Our second responsibility is to our business; making sure that we can continue to provide good products by being responsible with our crop management.

Our goal is to be 100% pesticide free for every harvest every day.  We are committed to best practices for organic pest management techniques including the regular use of ladybugs, assassin bugs and nematodes in our facility.

If there is ever an exceptional condition that occurs in our grow operations where pesticides will have to be temporarily used, we are committed to taking a very conservative approach.

Our pledge is the following:

  • We do use and continue to use natural, organic techniques on our crops
  • Any pesticide we may have to use will be OMRI certified organic natural oils, or natural ingredients OMRI certified ready, approved by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board
  • In the event that we partner with another producer to grow our clones under our purview, we will require a 100% pesticide free growing environment
  •  We will tell  the public what we have used on any of our crops on this web page.

2021, 2020 & 2019 Pest Management

We re-launched the Noble Farms genetics and brands in December 2018 by bringing 1,200 of our own clones from our own mothers into our facility.  These were the original Noble Farms genetics managed and cared for by our grower, Chad Koeppe, at a different grow operation.

Because we cloned our mothers inside another facility before bringing them in-house,  we did a one time  preventative spraying of these plants using only OMRI certified and OMRI certified-ready natural oils.  This was done for one harvest only in early March 2019, using the following:

  • AzaMax is a natural insecticide, miticide, and nematicide made from Neemazal® Technical (Purest Azadirachtin technical of highest concentration in the world). This is extracted from the neem seed kernel, through patented extraction technology.  It is OMRI certified in all 50 states.
  • Pyganic 1.4 E is ideal for organic growers who need insecticide options for hard-to-control insects. PyGanic 1.4 is made with botanically-derived active ingredients; it has a lower impact on the environment with a high impact on pests..
  • Trifecta Crop Control is a liquid concentrate made primarily with essential oils and soap. It does have a small amount of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol in it. They believe that it would likely fall within the scope of USDA guidelines for an organic pesticide, but they have not pursued certification with OMRI or any other certifier to date. It contains no ingredients that would fail testing for any of the testing regulations in place in all of the rec states.

FROM MARCH 2019 TO APRIL 2021 WE ONLY USED BENEFICIALS:  LADY BUGS, ASSASSIN BUGS AND NEMATODES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

In April 2021, due to an infestation of common ants which was not responding to natural methods of control, we contracted a licensed pest management company to apply NiBor-D only to cracks and cervices in our interior space and Termidor-SC to spots on the exterior perimeter of our building. Great care was taken to ensure that at no point was insecticide applied to any plants or equipment.

Noble Farms is committed to only using beneficials such as Lady Bugs, Assassin Bugs & Nematodes as the primary method of pest control going forward.
